Sarah Sung

Sarah fell in love with pilates after seeing how it transformed her own body after the birth of her beautiful son, Ethan, in 2007. A complicated pregnancy and four months of bed rest left her with weak abdominal muscles and a fairly large separation of the abdominal wall (diastasis recti). Sarah believes the beauty of pilates is in its adaptability to such a wide range of individuals, body types and levels. The focus on mind-body awareness and precise movement enables it to be just as effective for elite athletes seeking to build strength, endurance and flexibility as it is for the new mom trying to get back into shape and “find her abs again!”. She enjoys working with individuals of all levels and has trained everyone from professional rugby and ice hockey players to dancers, moms, grandmoms, models, celebrities and teens. With a real passion for fitness and infectious smile, Sarah is dedicated to giving you a fun, challenging workout that will leave you feeling a bit exhausted, but very accomplished.

Sarah was certified through Half Moon Pilates in Brooklyn, NY (now The Lab, DUMBO) in 2007 and has completed additional pilates course work through The Kane School of Core Integration/Kinected (Advanced Reformer, Advanced Chair, Core Anatomy and Post-Partum Pilates), Anatomy Trains (Myofacial Meridians) and Power Pilates/Apogee. She has also worked with Judy Tupler a specialist in maternal fitness and abdominal separation (diastasis recti).

Most recently, Sarah taught SPX Fitness (Megaformer) --a combination of pilates, cardio and strength training --at SLT NYC having been certified by SPX founder Sebastian Lagree in 2012.

Sarah Sung instructs the following:
  • Pilates Reformer
  • Emphasis on core strength and flexibility. Spring resistance is used with the body's own weight to create a natural strength training resistance within the body. Proper alignment improves posture and increases stamina.
